Executive Director and Lead Guide
LongWalk Oklahoma

He will be guiding trips of increasing difficulty to train young men and women how to make the decisions necessary to lead others to safety.

Mike received his degree in Psychology and Sociology, focusing on Adolescent Development, from OSU in 1977. Since graduating, he has been the owner of subcontracting firms specializing in construction of school facilities. As an avocation, he has spent the last 25 years coaching a variety of youth and high school sports teams.

Loving the outdoors, Mike began backpacking throughout the region in the 1970's and expanded into the Colorado Rockies in the 1980's. He has been on several extended solo trips into the wilds. Introducing both adults and young people to the challenge of backpacking, he has taken dozens of teams into (and out of) the wilderness of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Colorado.
